This exceptional Eastlake Victorian wardrobe is constructed of solid Cherry. The deeply carved, arched crest is removable. The cornice has complicated moldings and acanthus leaf carvings at the front corners. There is a center panel with incised scrolling carvings above the mirrored single door. The door retains its original brass key escutcheon and lock. Inside are 14 original fancy cast iron hooks. A single clothes hanging bar was added later. The wardrobe can be easily adapted to hold shelving. Below is a hand dovetailed drawer with its original cast brass pulls, key escutcheon and lock. Notice the reeding on either side of the mirror. The sides of the wardrobe have double recessed panels. The wardrobe retains its original finish which is in excellent condition having a deep, rich color and patina.
