This exceptional mahogany grandfather clock was made by the prestigious Waltham Clock Company. The tall case clock retains its original movement which is in excellent working condition. The gilded brass face has a nickel covered dial with incised gilded numerals. There is a sweep seconds hand dial, a silent or strike dial and a tune dial. The tune dial allows you to choose between three different chimes which are Whittington Bells, Westminster and Saint Michaels. There is also a moon dial which rotates with the turning of the phases of the moon. The dial has 2 scenes – a bridge and a sailing ship. The face and moon dial are all original. The clock strikes ¼ of the tune every quarter hour and strikes out the time on the hour on its original 9 Waltham tubes. Notice the original 3 brass weights and pendulum. The clock movement has been completely cleaned and serviced and keeps excellent time. The mahogany case retains its original finish which is in excellent condition having minor wear as to be expected. The domed top hood is flanked by 2 fully turned columns. The shaped top and bottom glass doors retain their original lock and key. Notice the large columns on either side of the main door and glass sides. The clock rests on suppressed bun feet.
