This walnut German wall clock is signed and made by Friedrich Mauthe of Schwenningen, Germany. These Black Forest clocks are often referred to as freeswinger clocks due to their exposed pendulum. The case has an ornately carved crest and two boldly turned half columns on either side of the clock face. The face has a celluloid dial with a lovely brass floral embossed design in the center. The ornate brass pendulum has the same embossed floral design. The clock case retains its original finish which is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina. The clock works are original and is also in excellent working condition. Notice how you can view the brass works through the 2 side glasses. The clock strikes every hour and half hour. The clock maintains its original brass side screws to assist in leveling the clock on the wall.
