This French bronze-dore lamp was originally the base of a monumental candelabrum. The bronze casting and details are some of the finest we have seen! Amazingly, the bright, shiny, gold looking finish is original and is referred to fire gilt, bronze-dore or ormolu depending on its country of origin. Due to its size and construction, this lamp is extremely heavy. It measures 16” tall to the base of the stem holding the double sockets. The height to the top of the sockets is 24” and the height to the top of the lamp finial is 29”. The sockets can be adjusted another 3” higher and the shade can be adjusted up and down by adding or subtracting spacers just above the socket cluster. The lamp comes with a quality made cream colored shade which is in excellent condition. The lamp was recently rewired and is in excellent working condition. What a statement this will make in any home.
