This early country Empire server has a wonderful paint decorated surface. It appears that all of the paint is original except for the clever light green accenting or pin striping. The cabinet has 2 small drawers over a single deep drawer over 2 doors. Two of the 3 drawers retain their locks. All are hand dovetailed and have turned wooden knobs. Their fronts have a red and black stippled design which is repeated on the top front corners of the server. The doors have their original working lock and a key. The recessed paneled doors also repeat the red and black stipple pattern. Inside is a single shelf. Notice the ebonized boldly turned half columns on either side of the doors. The cabinet rests on tall turned feet. I love the dramatic use of color and patterns on this cabinet. The finish is in excellent condition with the expected rubs and marks that time and history naturally provides.
