This quarter sawn oak server or console is of exceptional quality. Its size and design would work well for a variety of purposes such as a big screen TV stand, a dining room server or sideboard, in a large foyer or to store stereo or electronic equipment. The serpentine front and curved sides display a deeply and intricately carved frieze of scrolling leaves, below the curvaceous top. In the center is a boldly carved lion face. There is a large center door having its original working lock and key. On either side are additional dramatic carvings. Notice that the front and side panels are recessed. Originally, the cabinet had a shelf which is missing. Arrangements could be made to have a shelf built. The cabinet rests on carved feet. The finish is in excellent condition having a desirable warm color and rich patina.
