This small mahogany drop leaf table is generally referred to as a Pembroke table. The table dates from the Federal or Sheraton period. The table measures 19” wide and 36” wide when both leaves are displayed. Notice the shapely leaves. Each leaf is supported by a wooden support. The leaves retain their original hinges. If you look closely, there is a slight chip of wood missing next to one hinge. This does not affect its integrity or workings. The solid mahogany top has beautiful graining. The slender, twist carved legs are elegantly executed ending in gracefully turned feet. The table is extremely sturdy. The finish is in excellent condition having a deep, rich color and patina.
