This walnut Victorian Rococo parlor chair is called a Sleepy Hollow chair. Notice how the back has a slight slant and a gentle curve which makes it extremely comfortable. The arched crest is beautifully carved displaying a cluster of life size grapes and a pear. The scrolled arms have delicately carved acanthus leaves which extend down to the serpentine shaped feet. The chair rests on its original brass casters. The finish and frame is in excellent condition. The green velvet upholstery has some wear and light stains.
