This oak revolving bookcase was made by the Globe Wernicke Company who was the top manufacturers of barrister bookcases. The hard to find cabinet still retains its original label. The bookcase has an encased central iron rod which allows it to spin for easy access. It rests on a 4 legged base and has its original casters. Notice the carved detail along the top molding and the wide fluted mouldings along the sides. The top shelf will accommodate books up to 9.5” tall; the second and third shelves 10” tall and fourth shelf 12” tall. Each shelf is divided into four sections. Each of these sections measures 11” wide which results in a total of 14.5 feet of shelving space. Its clever design makes great use of a corner or any limited wall space. The finish is original and in excellent condition. There are marks on the shelves which would be easily hidden when books are in place. One shelf has a slight seam separation but this is common and does not affect its integrity or function. The revolving bookcase is extremely sturdy and well built.
