This small sized, 2 door, solid walnut bookcase is a gem. The boldly designed cornice has a carved saw tooth pattern below it. The 2 glass doors have applied panels of lovely burled walnut above, with carved round rosettes surrounded by delicate incised carvings. The doors retain their original cast brass key escutcheon and working lock with key. Inside are 3 adjustable original shelves measuring 10 ½” deep. The bookcase has a stepped out base with a drawer having a boldly carved and unique wooden key escutcheon, applied panels of burled walnut, carved wooden pulls and its original working lock. The bookcase rests on its original casters. There is a wood split on the lower right side of the bookcase. This is not unusual and does not affect its integrity or appeal. The finish appears original and is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina.
