What an amazing mahogany tall chest of drawers or highboy! There are so many special features, such as the elegantly designed serpentine shaped front; dramatic shapely cornice with dentil moldings; fully turned fluted columns with deeply carved Ionic capitols; acanthus leaves and the boldly carved paw feet. Amazingly, each of the 8 drawers is slightly graduated in size. All have their original fancy cast brass pulls, key escutcheon and working locks. The sides have double recessed panels. The mahogany graining is rich and dramatic. The finish is in excellent condition having a deep, rich color. All the drawers open and close smoothly. What a treat to be able to share this beauty!
