This pair of mahogany bookcases was made by the prestigious Charak Furniture Company of Boston, MA. They were known for their quality custom work and always signed, numbered and dated their furniture. This elegantly designed pair has a shapely top with recessed, open, curved shelving on the ends supported by slender turned columns. The center cabinet door has a burled mahogany oval panel framed with satinwood and ebony inlay. Each door has a brass pull and a single adjustable shelf inside. The bookcase rests on ogee bracket feet. The finish appears original and has a deep, rich color and desirable patina. What a treat to obtain such a lovely pair!
